Desktop app
Use the desktop app and tray
The app’s tabs, menu-bar and tray quick actions, displays, and capture rules.
The desktop app is the main place to see your day and manage capture. Its menu-bar icon on macOS, or tray icon on Windows and Linux, keeps a smaller set of quick actions close by.
Use the desktop app
- Home: check capture, pause or resume, see today’s timeline, and add activities by hand.
- Timesheets: see and edit your activities day by day.
- Review: confirm a day one card at a time in Power Review.
- Meetings: find your recorded meetings. This tab is hidden when your workspace turns meeting recording off.
- Settings: manage your workspace, pausing, privacy, meetings, notifications, permissions, and updates.
Use the icon for quick actions
On macOS, select the menu-bar icon to open the Now panel. It shows what Timeglass is capturing and lets you Pause or Resume, record an in-person meeting, add an activity, or open Timeglass. Its menu has Open in browser, Check for updates, Settings, and Quit Timeglass. Right-click the icon for the same menu as on Windows and Linux.
On Windows and Linux, the tray menu has Open Timeglass, Open in Browser, Check for Updates, Settings, Pause, Record In-Person Meeting, and Quit. While capture is paused, Pause becomes Resume capture. While a meeting records, the meeting item becomes Stop recording.
To open the full app with one click instead, turn on Open Timeglass on click under Settings → Application. On Linux, this works on KDE only. Elsewhere, use Open Timeglass in the tray menu.
Choose which displays are captured
Open Settings → Privacy → Displays. Each connected monitor is marked Capturing or Skipped. Turn a monitor off to skip its screenshots. The choice is remembered when you reconnect that monitor.
Choose apps and websites
In Settings → Privacy → App & Website Capture, choose Everything, All but these, or Only these. See Choose what gets captured.
