Set a project budget

Set a time target, budget, or fee and read the Money view.

Add a time target, budget, or fee so the project view can compare logged work with the plan.

Set a time target

  1. Open Projects & Clients and select the project.
  2. In Project Overview, choose Time.
  3. Select Set target, enter the hours, and save.

Set a budget or fee

Switch Project Overview to Money. Select Set fee on a fixed-fee project, or Set budget on any other project, and enter the amount.

Read the Money view

  • Billable projects show value against the budget or fee, with Delivery Cost and Est. Profit when people have cost rates.
  • Non-billable projects show labor cost, its Weekly Avg., and Share of Labor. In Time, they show Share of Time: the project’s share of all time logged in the current scope over the same dates.

Read the period correctly

Project totals follow the date range selected on the page. Clear the date range in Sort & view when you need the full project history.
