Set app and website filters

Choose which apps and websites the workspace captures.

Choose which apps and websites Timeglass captures for everyone in the workspace.

  1. Open Security settings
Go to Settings → Security and find App & Website Capture.
  2. Choose a capture mode
Under Capture mode, choose Everything, All but these, or Only these. The same mode applies to apps and websites.
  3. Choose apps
Select Choose apps or Edit apps, pick the apps to exclude or allow, then select Done.
  4. Choose websites
Select Manage websites and add sites such as example.com or a path like example.com/private. With All but these, your own sites appear under Your sites and ready-made lists under Common sets. With Only these, the list is called Allowed websites. Select Done when finished.
  5. Save the filters
Review the lists, then select Save changes. The policy reaches each member’s desktop app.

When you switch to All but these with empty lists, Timeglass starts from recommended exclusions for password managers and personal messages and calls. Banking and health sites stay optional, so add those sets yourself if your team needs them. Nothing is saved until you select Save changes.

Common questions

What do Everything, All but these, and Only these mean?

Everything captures every app and website. All but these skips the apps and websites you exclude. Only these captures only the ones you allow.

Why is browser time showing as nothing after I chose Only these?

Only these skips every website you haven’t allowed, even in allowed browsers. Add the websites your team uses under Manage websites.

Can I block password managers and personal messaging?

Yes. Choosing All but these with empty lists starts from recommended exclusions for password managers and personal messages and calls.
